Eleven gardeners gathered Saturday Morning June 14th to work on the herb and flower garden at Orchard Gardens. The herb garden had become a bit overgrown, with the lemon balm and oregano threatening to take over. We also did weeding and now the place looks great. Gardeners and Church members are encouraged to take clippings home to use in your cooking -there is nothing quite like fresh herbs in your home cooked meal. Use fresh herbs to liven up soups and sauces. Plus, you can make great marinades for the bbq. We also weeded the flower patch and tamed the iris plants which were also trying to take over. We are looking for a few new flowers for the flower garden – maybe some peonies or dalias.
